There's an art to assembling our gourmet gifts, and we take our craft seriously. To start, everything is done by hand to ensure the utmost quality. With so many baskets, boxes, and towers to pack, being fast is a requirement. Our production teams have speed down to a science, developing tips and tricks to help cut down on time while still making sure each gift is perfect. It's a team effort, and every player is up to the task. You'll even find a note inside to indicate which expert packer put the finishing touches on your gift.

Another Harry & David tradition, familiar to lovers of our legendary Royal Riviera® Pears, is to wrap one pear in each box in gold foil. We put an extraordinary level of care into growing these precious pears, and we pack them by hand with the same attention.
The one pear wrapped in gold signifies how special and luxurious these fruits really are. Our customers appreciate the tradition and have developed their own stories about how it came about, including the legend that they come from golden trees or that the gold-wrapped pears are extra sweet. As to the truth about these legends? Well, that’s a secret we’ll keep to ourselves.
